Projects and activities implemented by PTC for the year 2007

 First: Rehabilitation Projects (Educational & Psychological)

 Palestine Trauma centre for victims’ welfare organized several rehabilitation courses (educational & psychological) endeavoring to rehabilitate graduates in psychology and sociology. These courses contributed effectively in spreading healthy, psychological and educational enlightenment for all community categories

  Second: Emergency Relief Projects:

1-Ramadn Project:

Title of Project: Food basket project (the feast’s gift).

Grant amount: £2,000

Funder: Muslim Aid (UK)

Number of Beneficiaries: 85 needy families

As a result of the injustice siege imposed on people of Palestine in all cities, villages and camps of Gaza Strip, relating to that most people are exposed to traumatic events disorders which became more aggravated after the siege.

 Anxiety and fear of the unknown future pervade on the people and families of Palestine especially the poorest families, so the centre enumerated the families exposed for psychological trauma and the severe siege to support them psychologically and financially through a relief campaign for the families located in Al-Moghragah area where severe poverty and bad psychological conditions spread in the area, this campaign was funded by Muslim Aid foundation in London. Fifty dollars   ($50) per-family was distributed on the poor families in addition to basket of sweets before Eid Al-fitr with a grand total cost of (£2000) equals ($4050), and the following table demonstrates the number of beneficiaries and the grand total cost of the project.

This relief campaign was an attempt to draw a smile on the lips of children exposed to trauma resulting from occupation practices; destruction of infrastructure houses demolishing lands scooping killing parents and torture of children. These areas were former Nitzarim Settlement and exposed for large lands scooping uprooting olives and oranges trees which caused economical setback and psychological squander for families.

 2Qurbani Project 

Title of Project: Sacrifices Project

Grant amount: £1,500

Funder: Muslim Aid (UK)

Palestine Trauma Centre was trying to let in joy and pleasure into the deprived poor families that were exposed to trauma resulted from occupation and the siege imposed on the Palestinians. This project was funded by the Islamic Aid Foundation with estimated amount ($3000 only) meat of sacrifices were distributed on target group in the following areas (Al-Moghragah , Johor Al-Deek , East Maghazi , Buriej,Nuseirat,Izbet Bait Hanoun,Gaza).

Interim Furnishing Project

 The centre furnished the basic needs of the centre with a fund from Interpal Foundation, London they funded the centre with (£3000) equal ($6000) the following table presents the list of furniture:

4-Psychosocial Fund Project

 As a result of the Palestinian Community need for psychosocial support because of the violence of occupation which affected the Palestinian community economically, politically, and socially. These stressors caused crisises, psychological shocks and poverty widespread everywhere resulting from the siege.

 Therefore, the centre seeks to assist the damaged families psychologically and economically by providing the necessary psychosocial support services, the centre commenced this project with consent to support three affected children who were exposed to traumatic events resulting from the occupation continuous violations in Al-Moghragah and Johor Al-Deek areas. The children were the victims of occupation attacks

Each child collected ($100) distributed as follow: $40 financial support to the child

$50 counselling services and $10 other expenses.

This project was funded by a Muslim character living in London, the project started in October 2007 and the following table shows the project
